The Tri-State Elite Academy staff instructors are hand-picked for their knowledge of baseball and softball, and their ability to communicate it to our young players. Our coaches have had college and/or professional experience and, more importantly, they have been intensely trained in our state of the art major league baseball and softball techniques.

Favorite player growing up: Ozzie Smith
Biggest role model growing up: My Dad will always be my role model. Baseball has a lot of ups and downs that can beat you up emotionally. My Dad was the one who never let me get too high or too low depending on how I played.
Teaching philosophy: Winning is a result of practicing and playing the game the right way. There are no shortcuts.

Accolades: Earned first team all state in 06, 07. 06 Gatorade and Louisville Slugger player of the year (PA). Drafted by the Astros out of Souderton in 2007. Won team MVP honors in 08 for the Greeneville Astros.
Fondest memory as a player: Playing in the Championship game in 2010 in the Arizona Fall league. Getting a chance to play against some of the best players in the minor leagues, and starting the championship game.
Favorite player growing up: Growing up I was a huge Phillies fan so one of my favorite players was Curt Schilling, along with ex Astros Roy Oswalt.
Biggest role model growing up: My role model growing up was my dad. He was always there for me, whether it was with baseball or just in life. He never steered me wrong and can and always will tell me how it is. He taught me to be the man that I am today.
Teaching philosophy: Baseball is a game, have fun. It’s a simple concept just throw the ball, don’t think. You are constantly learning when pitching, don’t get frustrated be willing to learn. Baseball is a game of failures, the successful players just know how to deal with failure.

Biggest role model growing up: His parents. “They raised me and helped me to respect people and earn respect. You can’t worry about what others think of you. You are who you are. You have goals and dreams to reach, so don’t let others dictate how you go about that. Fight and make it happen.”
Teaching philosophy: Just to have fun and relax. The talent is there. You just have to be able to trust yourself. That’s the difference between being a good athlete and not – trusting your ability. Let your natural ability take over.

Teaching philosophy: If you don’t have balance, you don’t have anything. Balance is the biggest key. If you don’t have it, you’re not going to be consistent and do the things you want to do.

Biggest role model growing up: My father. “He’s always been there for me and gave me the opportunity to do pretty much whatever I wanted. Fail or succeed, it didn’t matter to him.”
Teaching philosophy: You need to iron out their mechanics so they can maximize their body. There’s nothing I can do or say to change that, so you have to fit the body with certain mechanics so they can perform at the highest level. Then we need to work on the mental aspects and how to manage the game. You have to learn how to pitch and if you have someone helping along the way you’ll see results a lot quicker.

Biggest role model growing up: Jose Canseco. “I just loved his power, speed and all-around baseball. Who knew then how he’d turn out?
Teaching philosophy: It has to be fun. That’s the biggest thing. You have to work hard. I tell the kids all the time that games are not won on game day. Games are won in practice. You have to put the work in.
I truly love going every Saturday and Monday. I love it so much that I got a group of us together and set another workout for Wednesday. I also go every Friday. The Academy coaches and staff are really fun and easy to work with. FitLife training is awesome because it helps you in other sports and your overall speed and agility.
